The salon
A shop on a corner, not a chain.
Marlowe opened in 2016 in what used to be a hardware shop, and we kept the floor, the counter and the sign bracket. Eight chairs, four basins, one long table by the window where people wait, read and occasionally fall asleep.
We book long appointments on purpose. A cut is an hour because a cut takes an hour if you want it to still look right in six weeks. Colour is timed to your hair, not to the next person through the door.
Nothing on the shelves is there because a rep asked nicely. We stock what we use on the floor, and we will tell you if the cheaper one is just as good.
What to expect
- A consultation before the wash, every visit, even the fiftieth
- Tea, coffee or something colder, and a chair that is yours for the duration
- Prices agreed before we start. No surprises at the desk
- No upsell. If you do not need a treatment we will not suggest one
- Wheelchair access at the front, a step-free chair and a quiet slot on request

Everyday shampoo
£22250 ml. Gentle enough for colour, not so gentle it does nothing.
Repair mask

£19150 ml. Sea salt without the crunch. Used on every cut in the salon.
